- Choice of the most efficacious product depends on a number of parameters:

  • type of bird (size and mass);
  • pressure;
  • type of surface (architectural features).

- The "pressure" of an area depends on its location and the exposure of the surface. It differs according to whether the surface is:

  • an observation point;
  • a rest area;
  • a reproduction area...

- We have identified different zones:

  • low-pressure zones: areas where birds rest;
  • medium-pressure zones: points from which a source of food can be observed (e.g. a cornice above a restaurant), sunbathing areas...
  • high-pressure zones: nesting locations.

However, it is not possible to establish set solutions. The features surrounding a zone can modify bird behaviour (a windswept cornice will only attract gulls, since other birds avoid exposed places).
Observation is still the best way of choosing the most suitable product.
